This festival may be less traditional, but it is one of the most famous, frequented and elaborately designed. Every three years on the evening of Good Friday, each house in the town is lit up with thousands of oil lamps in preparation for the long procession which, when darkness falls, leaves the parish church and bears a standard with an image of Christ's Passion through the streets.
