In the Parish Church in Altopascio you can find the relic of San Jacopo, the apostle Giacomo Maggiore, patron saint of the community. This relic is the arm bones of the saint, which are displayed exclusively during the celebrations in his honour in the second half of July. In the evening of the 25th, after the song of the Vespers, the relic is carried in a procession through the city streets. It is one of the most long-standing displays of worship in the area, established since the Middle Ages and widespread well beyond the borders of the province.
