One of the most important traditions in the community of Camaiore is the Festa del Santo Patrono dal Magnifico Consiglio della Comunità, which dates back to 14 June 1528. It remembers the Most Holy Name of Jesus, Whose monogram is carved above the doors of every house in the historical centre of Camaiore. On this day a garland of flowers is hung around the Christogram as it passes by in a procession. The Christological symbol refers to the prediction made in this town by San Bernardino of Siena, to whom the main piazza is dedicated.
