By the Oratory of the same name, which dates back to at least the sixteenth century, the festival of San Terenziano is celebrated by a large proportion of the citizenry of Pontremoli. A cult of the Saint was practised in this area from the fourteenth century, drawing the devotion of the Pontremolese community, who prayed for protection against the cholera epidemic that ravaged the city and the countryside in the middle of the nineteenth. The festival involves eucharistic celebrations taking place over the course of the day. It is traditional for believers to camp and rest in the woods around the Oratory.
