The Galleno church is situated on slightly high ground on the border between three municipalities: Fucecchio, Castelfranco di Sotto and Santa Croce sull’Arno. Despite this fractioning, the faithful built the church, consecrating and naming it after the cult of Peter the Apostle. History and popular beliefs intersect with the devotion to the saint by the many believers living in the three municipalities.
