San Biagio is one of the three key moments, perhaps the most important one, in the identity of this religious community in Pietrasanta. The community celebrates the town’s patron saint and bishop with a day dedicated to his liturgical memory. The Cathedral is the spiritual centre of the celebrations, a destination for the faithful who pay tribute to the saint’s reliquary bust which is on show, marking his throat. A big fair takes place in the town centre – it’s one of the main fairs in Versilia – which involves a farming exhibition near the town hall.
