On the third Sunday of August the town of Montelungo, one of the main settlements around Pontremoli, solemnly celebrates its patron saint, the Madonna della Cintura. After Mass, which is celebrated in the afternoon, there is a procession through the streets of the parish, with an image of the Virgin borne aloft.
